The Moving Fund Hong Kong Rabbit Society Welfare and Resources Services Centre have been launched since 2006. Over 1000 abandoned rabbits have been stayed in the centre (in short-stay or long-stay) till they have been adopted. Some of them received medical treatments during their residences. And, countless rabbit owners have received free training course of rabbit keeping in our centre. Therefore, the Welfare and Recourses Service Centre is very important to many rabbits and owners. The number of abandoned rabbits increased greatly in these few years. Some rabbit owners will abandon their rabbits to us, they have to wait 2-3 months due to the lacking space of our centre. Some abandoners have no patience to wait anymore; they will abandon their rabbits into streets or anywhere nearby. We are eager to expand our centre, so we can increase the capacity of receiving abandoned rabbits and shorten the waiting time of the abandoners. In Hong Kong , there are not many channels for the rabbit owners to learn how to keep rabbits in proper way. If every rabbit owners in Hong Kong can keep rabbits appropriately, then many tragedies can be avoided. Once we have expanded our centre, we can have more space to hold courses and workshops about the knowledge of keeping and caring rabbits. Nevertheless, the donation from public can only cover our daily expenses, which cannot allow us to move to a larger space. Now we set up a Moving Fund, and the target is $500,000. Once we reach the target, we will move to a new place locates near our existing centre.
